No doubt WhatsApp is the most up-to-date app and has some amazing features included in it but there are some features that are missing on WhatsApp. If you are looking for a near to perfect app then below-mentioned pros and cons of WhatsApp will help you decide if it is useful for you or not.

In this society where everybody wants to spy on you, WhatsApp chats are end-to-end encrypted. Means your chats are secured and no one can read them apart from you and the person you are chatting with. In a recent update, WhatsApp extended the end-to-end encryption to voice and video calls. WhatsApp did introduce stories like Instagram and Snapchat but you can’t use those entertaining Face filters that are available on Snapchat and Instagram.

No Animated Stickers

WhatsApp doesn’t have animated stickers like available on the Facebook messenger. But according to current reports animated stickers are also coming to WhatsApp.

Self-Destructing Messages

WhatsApp doesn’t have the option of Self-Destructing messages. WhatsApp started working on this feature but then dropped the idea due to privacy and security issues. However, there are some reports that WhatsApp is bringing back this feature.

WhatsApp Calling Limitation

Some countries have banned WhatsApp’s video calling feature. So if you are looking to connect with somebody in those particular countries this can be a huge issue.

File Size limitation

This is the most annoying limitation of WhatsApp. It doesn’t allow you to send videos more than 16MB and document larger than 100MB.

No Sign-Out Option

Unlike other messengers like Facebook Messenger and Telegram, you don’t get the Log Out option in WhatsApp. You need to delete your account if you want to log out from WhatsApp but then it will delete all your chats and data.

Contact Number Required

One of the major drawbacks of WhatsApp is that you can’t connect to the person if you don’t have his/her phone number.

Needs Internet Connection

Internet connection is a must to use WhatsApp. For instance, you have an emergency and don’t have an internet connection, you won’t be able to send a message to your contact.

Is WhatsApp Useful or Not?
