Did you recently buy an iPhone? Are you struggling to migrate your files to your new device? Do you know how to transfer music from Android to iPhone faster?

Moving from Android to iPhone (and vice-versa) is nothing new. Though iPhone sales are on a decline this year, it remains an integral part of Apple. There are still 900 million iPhone users globally.

And Apple will continue to use the iPhone to promote and integrate their other services.

So how do you transfer your music, photos, and videos efficiently? Continue reading below as we give you a lowdown on moving them from Android to iPhone.

Key Considerations

Before we proceed with the steps, there are key considerations you need to understand. Below are important factors that will affect your transfer of music and photos:

iTunes a Must

The first on the list involves your computer. You need to make sure you have iTunes on it. This is crucial especially if you are using different software to manage your music and movies on your Android phone.

iTunes can help you manage your music more efficiently after the switch. The good thing is you can download it for free from the App Store. Make sure to install it on your computer, regardless if you’re using Mac or Windows.

The Contents to Transfer

Yes, this guide is about transferring your music and photos from your Android to your iPhone. But are those the only things you can migrate?

Apart from these two, you can also transfer your videos. Since videos are usually large, it is best to sync them first on your computer before transferring to your iPhone.

Moreover, you can transfer all the contacts from your Android device. This includes all the names, phone numbers, and addresses you have for each of your contacts.

You can also move your entire calendar to your new Apple device. This covers all the events, birthdays, and other entries including their designated times.

As for your SMS, you cannot transfer them directly. However, you may use third-party apps capable of storing them in the cloud. If there is an Apple version for the app, your texts may appear in your history.

Some of these apps also offer various features to help you manage your music in the cloud. Click on the link to learn how to turn off iCloud music library.

Sync Before Switch

Last but not least, you need to sync your content first to your computer before making the transfer. This is very important to ensure that you have a backup to all your photos and music in case something untoward happens during the transfer.

How to Transfer Music From Android to iPhone

Learning how to transfer music from Android to iPhone is easy. But you need to be careful in following the steps. Here are three ways to migrate your music to your iPhone:

Through Android File Transfer

Do you have a Mac at home? Then you can use this method to facilitate your transfer. Make sure, however, that you already have iTunes in your Mac. This will allow you to drag and drop items from your Mac to your iPhone.

Start by downloading and installing Android File Transfer on your Mac. Connect your Android phone to your computer. Launch the Android File Transfer.

You can now proceed to your Music folder. Here, copy all the songs that you want and save them to your Mac. After transferring your music, launch iTunes on your computer.

Add the songs you transferred to your Mac into your iTunes. This is where the drag-and-drop feature of iTunes becomes helpful. Another way is to head on to options and select “Add files to library.”

Thereafter, connect your iPhone to the system. The latter will automatically detect your smartphone.

Select the iPhone from the devices option and click the “Music” tab. Enable “Sync Music.” Complete the transfer by selecting the songs and playlists that you want to migrate then click “Apply.”

Through dr.fone – Switch

Next is through the dr.fone – Switch. This is perhaps the easiest method of transfer. It is a one-click method.

The dr.fone is a tool that allows you to switch from one device to another in a matter of minutes. It allows cross-platform transfers of data in a user-friendly manner. It is also available in both Windows and Mac.

After downloading dr.fone, launch it on your computer. Hit the “Switch” option as it appears on the welcome screen. Connect your two phones on the system until the latter detects them.

After authentication, select your media transfer option. Generally, your Android is the “Source” device while your iPhone is the “Destination.”

Now, select the data you wish to migrate. When moving music, make sure to tick “Music” before hitting the “Start Transfer” button. After you hit this button, let the dr.fone – Switch do all the work.

You will receive a notification once the transfer is complete.

Transferring Streaming Music

Apart from the music that you previously downloaded to your Android device, you can also transfer streaming music to your iPhone. The good thing about streaming providers like Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music is you can access them through multiple devices.

To move your existing Spotify music from your Android device to your iPhone, click on Spotify’s “Playlists” tab. Create a new playlist, which will serve as your backup during the transfer.

Take your iPhone and open the App Store. Search and install Spotify on your new device. Log in using your existing Spotify credentials then head on to “My Music.”

From there, you can open your existing playlists. This is also the same method you can follow for other streaming services. There is one caveat though: the songs on your playlist that are available offline will not appear.

How to Transfer Photos

To transfer your photos, you can follow the steps for the dr.fone tool. However, there are other ways to migrate your pictures. Let’s take a look at some of them below:

Via Bluetooth

The great thing about Bluetooth transfer is it doesn’t require any third-party apps to work. Open the Bluetooth on both your devices. Tap the box to ensure that both devices are visible for both your Android and iPhone.

Take your Android device and open your File Manager. Head on to the DCIM folder if you’re transferring items from your Camera. Now tap the menu button, look for “Select” and click it.

You will notice that all the photos will have a checkbox beside them. Simply tap the corresponding checkbox of the photos you wish to transfer.

After choosing the photos, select the “Share” icon. Go to the “Bluetooth” option below and select it. Thereafter, you will see all the devices that are visible to your Android phone.

Select your iPhone to start the transfer.

Keep in mind that the rate of the transfer is dependent on the version of Bluetooth that you have. Bluetooth 5.x offers a transfer rate of 6MB per second. An older version like Bluetooth 2.x clocks at 0.25MB per second.

Via Google Drive

You can also use the good old Google Drive to transfer your pictures. It remains one of the simplest ways of transferring and sharing data online to date. The major requirement is a Gmail address.

This cloud storage option can transfer and store not only photos but also videos and documents.

Before you start the transfer, make sure you have Google Drive on your Android device. Head on to the Gallery section and choose the pictures you wish to migrate. Tap the “Share” button and select “Share via Drive.”

Take your iPhone and install the Google Drive app. Thereafter, open the Drive using the same Google ID you are using in your Android device. From there, you can view all the medial files you uploaded.

Click on “Save Image” to save the pictures on your iPhone.

Via Transfer Apps

Last but not least, you can migrate your photos using transfer apps. One of the best apps out there is Photo Transfer. A reason for its popularity is because it doesn’t require any cables. Moreover, it is compatible with different platforms.

Another great option is PhotoSync. The app allows you to transfer pictures from one device to another through a Wi-Fi connection.  It is also compatible with various platforms such as cloud services and desktops.

You may also try Shareit. It is an app that allows you to transfer multiple images in a matter of seconds. It allows the transfer of individual pictures as well as folders. Sharing folders, however, may slow down the transfer rate.

Additionally, it is one of the safest transfer apps today. The company regularly updates the app to ensure security. This is crucial especially if you are transferring items with sensitive information.
